Space Marine 2: USMC (Marine Corps) Custom Armor Chapter Colors

So SM2 is my favorite 3rd person shooter of all time- and admittedly it’s because Space Marine lore literally feels like somewhere throughout Warhammer’s history there have been some serious, SERIOUS USMC vets/fans/military-geeks that take everything we are and pump it up with 38,000 years of ‘if the USMC evolved and the whole universe was centered around its purpose’.

Because of this deep personal connection and general love for the armor aesthetic the Space Marines exude, PLUS the awesome customizability SM2 offers, I came up with a couple simple color schemes that correlate to current day USMC uniforms.

But onto the purpose of the pictures and post, this is the specific color scheme I made as a ‘USMC’ set for SM2 (useable for all classes).

You can see in these pics two custom ‘Astartes Chapters’ color schemes. Pretty simple but still, for non-Marines I thought it’d be cool to detail the… details.

  1. ‘Woodland Green’ Service Alphas:

-Primary color: Caliban Green

-Secondary color: Iron Hands Steel

-Emblem color default: Skullcrusher Brass

-Emblem color custom: (any color a chapter officially uses, like ‘Red’ for Salamander’s flame emblem ‘squad number’)

-Left+Right Greave emblem/color: ‘Watch Company Tertius’ emblem with ‘Red’ secondary color for stripe*

This also pays credence to the Space Marine Chapter I most affiliate with personally- the Salamanders. Their official chapter color is green, but it's a lighter variant than the one I chose because the official green hue is a little bit too bright for my taste.

And then there's the more stylish and iconic 'dress blues' color scheme that gives a tip of the hat to the most aesthetic, worldwide coolest looking dress uniform of the United States military.

It’s uncanny how specific the SM doctrines, the discipline, the history, the on-paper and irl at-war lifestyles, even the ‘brainwashing’ elements of the Marines (aka the kinda “we are the baddest of asses” history and way we act [intertwined with admittedly exaggerated in some cases lore] and all around way we’re taught)… all perfectly translate to current day US Marines.

I served 2006-2010 and was 1/6 (1st Battalion 6th Marines) in 2008 myself, so I only know of that era first-hand, but every jarhead brother I’ve ever met, even from peacetime 80’s-90’s and peacetime post-2010’s, correlate the same motivation and discipline and overall mindset we had during OIF/OEF.

Thanks for even reading this novel of a post if you made it this far. That is all.

*This is the ‘blood stripe’ all USMC NCO’s and officers wear on their trousers, representing some specific battles and overall the sacrifices and losses Marines sustained through our history.  A ‘direct nod to USMC’ feature of these custom color sets.

Thanks for reading this far if you see this! Let me know what you think!
